The Group met on July 19th at Coal Creek Utility District to plan for the October 18th seminar.
The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Mick Holte at 10:10 am. The attendees were Debbie Crooks, Bob Eastwood, Larry Holmes, Mick Holte, Jeff Kobylk, Dennis McLaughlin, Tony Peredo, Chris Sutton, Wednesday Smith, and Carla Snyder.
June’s minutes were approved. And Dennis our Treasurer reported we have a balance of $25,844.00 in the account and we have received 2, $200.00 Payments for the Web site advertisements.
Here is a quick summary of what discussed during the planning portion of the meeting. Same Venue this year, (La Quinta Inn Tacoma) we will also have the Italian menu for lunch. We have
a block of 15 hotel rooms at discount; a motion was made by Tony for Dennis McLaughlin to purchase 500 pencils at 41cents a piece plus $10.00 to have the Groups logo printed on them. The motion was seconded by Bob and all voted in favor. We also talked about having other trinkets like water bottles, portfolios, pens and such for the attendees of the seminar, please bring ideas to the
picnic next week Dennis will also bring a catalog which had items.
Seminar registration will open at 6:30. Bob went over the preliminary agenda for the day will get that out to all of you soon. Duties were also assigned for the day, A second motion was made by Dennis McLaughlin for Wednesday Smith to send out a special invitation to the Utility Managers inviting them to attend or send a representative to the Group’s monthly meetings, trainings and the October seminar. The motion was seconded by Bob Eastwood all voted in favor. The motion passed. Tony brought up an idea to expand our area coverage, possibly having a liaison to touch bases with members every other month in the areas that are not able to make monthly meetings due to travel distance and time. We can touch on this idea a little more during the picnic in Redmond.
Speaking of the picnic… We have space reserved at Redmond Perrigo Park next week on Wednesday the 16th, location is, 9011 196th Ave NE Redmond WA 980052. 10:00 am – Noon. We will have the usual fare, burgers, Brats; corn on the cob, beverages, and of course Kathy Caldwell’s potato salad! If you would like to bring something to share that would be great if not just come hungry we would love to have you there! I apologize this letter is so late. I hope you all are having a good summer!
